I can’t recommend these classes enough. I’ve taken the iPhone Development, Intro to Artificial Intelligence, Intro to Databases, and Machine Learning classes.
It’s my thought that the future of education will not be 4 year degrees on site, but life long learning at home.
If you need to brush up on some math first try Khan Academy, Wolfram Math World.

Robot humor
I was working through my rss feed on robots the other day and ran across this short story. It’s worth a read, just some light reading for the holiday.
So, for months, I’ve been seeing this “stock robot” trading machine ad, all over the net. From time to time, it would pop up on my blog too; so I bought one.The “stock trading robot” was delivered in a metal box, about half the size of a coffin. I’m sure my neighbors thought “The Fly” was having dead monkey’s delivered to his house. Very nice. . . . [ read more The important matter of stock trading robots]
Take a break and watch some robot movies
If you are in NYC you can visit the ‘Museum of Sex’ and see the: Sex Life of Robots (preview) (nsfw) movie. A slide show from the movie is at Wired if you can’t get to see the show or are at work now.
MIT Tech Videos is mostly just fun and fluff but you can search by genre and find some interesting and educational ones under ‘education’ and ‘engineering’.

Can They Be Trusted? – 80 Years of Robots in Hollywood – TIME
. . .
Adapted from the Cold War-era stories by Isaac Asimov, I, Robot feeds from our worst fears and asks: what would happen if robots controlled every aspect of our lives, from commerce and public safety to handy housework? Yes, they’d work more efficiently than humans, but they would also lack our values, logic and reasoning. These fears are harbored by a troubled and bigoted cop, Del Spooner. Spooner hasn’t trusted robots since one plucked him out of dangerous waters but let a little girl drown. The robot had calculated that Spooner had a higher chance of survival. In Spooner’s view the honorable choice would’ve been to save the child. “A human being would’ve known that,” he says.
